Opticon OPN-4000i – an extremely compact mobile barcode scanner designed for use in situations where mobility and convenient one-handed operation are essential. The device uses CCD reading technology (classified in practice as a linear imager) and is designed for everyday 1D code scanning in light-duty work environments.

Two main channels are provided for data transfer: USB connection to a computer and Bluetooth wireless connection. Due to its extremely small dimensions (36 × 83 × 21.5 mm) and low weight (53 g), the OPN-4000i is convenient for inventory, inspections, goods receipt, or other tasks where the operator is on the move and does not want to be “tied” to the workplace.

Environmental parameters and mechanical resistance indicate that the device is adapted to real conditions: operating temperature 0–50 °C, humidity 20–85 %, drop resistance on concrete from 1.2 m.
